Kudremukh

Kudremukh, located in the Chikkamagaluru district of Karnataka, India, is a trekker's paradise, nestled amidst lush greenery and rolling hills. Just 20 kilometers from Kalsa, it offers a perfect blend of natural beauty and adventure.

Our journey began early in the morning, reaching the turn-off point for Kudremukh around 6:30 AM. From here, private vehicles are prohibited, so we hired a rugged 4-wheel-drive jeep, essential for navigating the rough terrain. The jeep took us 20 kilometers closer to Kudremukh, where we arrived at our hotel at 7:30 AM, the farthest point accessible by vehicle.

After a brief rest and a hearty breakfast, we started our trek at 10:10 AM. The final stretch to Kudremukh's peak is a 10-kilometer hike, a thrilling journey through dense forests, open grasslands, and breathtaking landscapes. Trekkers must pack their lunch, as there are no shops or eateries at the peak. However, water is abundant and accessible every kilometer—a refreshing supply of pure, cold, and sweet flowing water.

We reached the summit, standing majestically at 1,894.3 meters above sea level, around 1:30 PM. The panoramic views from the top were simply mesmerizing. Surrounded by nature’s tranquility, the peak offered us a moment of pure joy and serenity, making the entire trek an unforgettable experience.

Kudremukh is truly a gem for nature lovers and adventure seekers alike—a perfect destination to connect with the wilderness and admire Karnataka’s pristine beauty
